All Roar and No Bite by Celia Kyle

In “All Roar and No Bite,” the second book of the Grayslake: More Than Mated series, human Lauren unexpectedly faces challenges involving werebear Van, who must confront his prejudice against…

She’s human. He’s a werebear with a grudge. But when fate roars louder than prejudice, love might be the wildest shift of all.

All Roar and No Bite is the second book in the Grayslake: More Than Mated series

Overview

Lauren is human, what else could she be? Turns out, there are quite a few other things she could be. One day, she is saving her best friend from an abusive husband, next, she’s fighting off a werebear cub. Turns out the cub she was checking is a bear, too. Now she’s being told she needs to accept one as a mate or she may need to be “handled” to safeguard their secret.

Van’s statement about humans is well-known throughout the clan. But he can’t take his eyes off this human’s curves. Maybe not all humans are imperfect. You can’t deny the feeling of finding your fated mate.

Positives

Van has a huge character arc. Going from never even responding to a “human” call to being mated to one takes a lot of work. Some setbacks add to the emotional depth of the romance between Van and Lauren.

Lauren is such a tough female lead. She has such a big heart. When she learns of Van’s hatred of humans, she is most affected by how he would view their children, especially if they couldn’t shift.

Negatives

We get more of Mia’s fascination with “language”. All Roar and No Bite continues the darker themes that No Ifs and or Bears About It had. It also continues characters and events, so if you’re looking for a standalone, this probably isn’t it.

Recommendations

Rating: 4 out of 5.

All Roar and No Bite is four stars for me. I love these books, their strong female leads, protective males, and believable romance.

Narration Notes

Kendall Taylor narrates the series. Her voice adds a cozy feel to the series.

An audiobook is available for purchase on Audible or Everand.
